Shipwright says... Though relatively slow, the Heron carries a decent amount of cargo and rather large cannons for its small size.
The Heron is one of the slowest ships in the game, trading its speed for a large cargo capacity of eight and the ability to mount two Size 6 cannons. The Heron is fairly vulnerable to being ran down by pirates, however, so one must helm and plan carefully to avoid being chased down due to its abysmal top speed.
Trivia
Herons are a common sight, both sailing and being sunk due to their general inability to escape faster pirate ships.
The Pelican is just a Heron with two more sails.
