Shipwright says... The Steam Goose is not for the feint of heart. The Steam Goose is for strong individuals only. No other ship offers the exquisite balance of firepower, speed, and cargo capacity that the Steam Goose does. A small mortar, replacing the useless life raft, pushes the Steam Goose's combat abilities to the max. Laugh in the face of your enemies by presenting them with a larger target. They're going to need all the help they can get.
The Steam Goose trades two cannons for an engine and a Mortar, allowing it to have long-range combat capability alongside the ability to move quickly upwind and crosswind. The ability to carry such a large amount of cargo at a decent speed regardless of wind direction can lead to large profit margins, should one steer clear of pirates.
Trivia
The Steam Goose has an engine speed second to only that of the Dragon.
