Nassau is a republic that overthrew their Duke, Nelson the "Nasty" under the leadership of Bob Pinkers Schmucklebutt. After the rebellion against their monarch and the capture of Salem, the faction went through a period as a tributary of Burkeland, but has since reached independence following political and military pressure from Purshovia, exchanging Salem for what is now the republic's main defense against foreign invaders, the fort Saint Christopher. Nassau is ruled by a popularly-elected governor, who is elected for three-month terms.

- The Nassuvian flag and uniform were designed by contest winners goose2820 and TanSZ, respectively. Nassau is the only currently-active faction to have held such a contest with common-player participation.
- Nassau is the first NPC faction to become playable as a normal faction in Tradelands.
- Nassau's original flag was a horizontal tricolour triband with the colours of Nassau.
- Ser50 is regarded as the best Governor the Republic has had. Having served multiple terms and retaken multiple times what Players of the Faction consider to be their secondery island Saint Christopher. While the Ex-Governor blueskydiamondgaming had the shortest term due to complications, he is still liked by parts of the Nassuvian Navy.
