== Summary ==
In all respects spare for build cost, the Fox is an upgraded [[Beaver]] which provides the use of both a Size 6 Mortar and steam engine. The ability to go upwind with the engine—alongside the longer-range capability of the Mortar—make the fox an excellent trade ship that can still be used in combat to great effect.

The Fox, alongside the [[Steam Goose]], are the only trade ships in-game that are upgraded from previous ships to possess a mortar and steam engine.
