It's ability to sail rather quickly crosswind allows for easy access to highly profitable sailing routes that do not directly follow wind routes, with its sizable Cargo Capacity of ten provides a decent profit from every trade run. The Serpent is also fairly well-armed, carrying four Size 7 guns on each side, making it well-equipped for combat if necessary.
