UPDATE MARCH 23

Game Mechanics

  • Waves. Waves get larger farther away from land.
  • Wind changes direction every 3 days.
  • Cargo trading uses a new system to determine sale value. Sale prices are largely the same as before, though some have changed slightly. Delivering much of the same cargo to a single port now has a larger effect on sale price.
  • Increased cargo sell values by 20%
  • Pirate/Trader ratio no longer reduces cargo value: only increases.

Location Changes

  • Nova Balreska has been rebuilt.
  • Saint Christopher and Clydesdale from the battle server have been added to the main game. (no traders)

Ship Changes

  • Updates to the models of the Marlin, Orca, Shark, Dragon, Tyrant and Manta.
  • Minor tweaks to Atlas, Astraeus, Prometheus, Heron, Pelican, and Marauder.
  • The Goldfish and Minnow are no longer craftable and can be scrapped. Some of the other low level ships have had their levels adjusted to make up for this.

Other Changes

  • Graphically updated all rocks
  • Players will now be notified in chat when they have unopened mail at the mail carrier.
  • Updated house buy / upgrade menu
  • Players can now jump on ships without flying backwards.
  • Improvements to lighting.
  • Smoothed movement of stamina bar
  • Added rebuildathon contest prizes.
  • Backend changes
  • Added game pass which doubles the amount of items you may place in your house.

Bug Fixes

  • Your character will no longer be invisible when switching into third person with a tool equipped
  • Binglehoppers should only spawn in large slots to avoid clipping into docks.
  • Ships can no longer sail on land
  • Cargo floating near ports no longer exaggerate wave height
  • Atlas decal is no longer backwards
  • The map should now appear clearer on small screens (mainly mobile)
  • Multiple minor UI fixes

UPDATE MARCH 24

  • Fixed cargo prices. Maybe.
  • Double furniture gamepass can now be purchased in-game.
  • Backend changes

Note: Cargo value is based on distance now instead of arbitrary amounts. Demand impacts prices more than before. You have 110 viable trade routes now, so make use of them. Trading between the same two ports no longer works.

UPDATE MARCH 25

  • Convinced fishing bobbers to face the science and stop being flat oceaners.

UPDATE MARCH 30

  • Added proximity prompts to interact with NPCs.
  • New tutorial. Everyone will be forced to view it the first time they join the game.
