The Cutlass is a level 9 ship capable of carrying a modest armament and a good amount of cargo while still maintaining high speed and maneuverability.
The Cutlass is a great multi-purpose ship, as she is a capable trader while still packing a heavy punch with her four Size 8 cannons. Her combat-oriented counterpart, the Stiletto, is one of the more favored combat ships in the game. Lacking only a pair of chasers and 1000 more Hull Points, the Cutlass works well in combat should no better option be available.
The Cutlass suffers when traveling against the wind due to her square rigging, and may be easily overtaken by otherwise slower ships, such as the lateen-rigged Marauder. Her high, pronounced profile makes her easy to identify from afar, and gives even the more inexperienced attackers an easy target.
Trivia
- The Cutlass is not to be confused with the sword Cutlass (weapon).
