The steam goose sacrifices the cannons found within the cabin on the other fluyt variants to accommodate an engine. The impressive five speed with the engine is second only to the dragon. The vessel retains the impressive 14 crates cargo hold of its counterpart making it viable for trade. With the addition of the engine it as able to avoid pirates and even access otherwise unviable trading routes. With only three cannons on each broadside the firepower of this ship would be lacking if not for the centrally placed mortar that allows this ship to better fulfil a long range supportive role. While it certainly shouldn’t be the first choice for combat this vessel is better suited than others in the fluyt class. The steam goose certainly can be a competent mercantile vessel though buyers should consider cheaper alternatives before investing.

Shipwright-Buddy.pngShipwright says... The Steam Goose is not for the feint of heart. The Steam Goose is for strong individuals only. No other ship offers the exquisite balance of firepower, speed, and cargo capacity that the Steam Goose does. A small mortar, replacing the useless life raft, pushes the Steam Goose's combat abilities to the max. Laugh in the face of your enemies by presenting them with a larger target. They're going to need all the help they can get.
