The Taipan is one of the fastest ships in the game, with an impressive Speed 9 combined with its junk sails allowing for extremely quick travel both downwind and crosswind, and its cargo capacity of 6 makes it a fantastic ship for pirates. However, mediocre broadside of only 2 Light Cannons makes it ineffective in naval battles, making it most effective for boarding, transport, or trading.
