The '''Ptarmigan''' is the combat counterpart of the [[Grouse]] trading ship. The armament of this ship consists of 6 Heavy Cannon slots, 4 Medium Cannon Slots, and 2 Heavy Cannons located at the stern of the ship.

It's great armament and hull strength make up for it's massive loss of cargo capacity compared to the Grouse. This all combined makes the Ptarmigan a decent ship for [[Piracy]], because of it's relatively good speed and cargo capability, great for raiding slower trading ships like the [[Camel]].

It's great armament and hull strength make up for it's loss of cargo capacity compared to the Grouse. The Ptarmigan is a decent support ship in combat, though it’s turning rate makes it a rather stiff ship to helm in ship-to-ship battles.

The Ptarmigan can operate independently as a decent combat ship but can also function as effective support ship in fleets.

 

It’s still decent cargo capacity of 10 ensures the crew doesn’t need to carry all the cargo home after a raid.
